Nestled deep within Gaopo township in southwest Guiyang lies Raorao village, a Bouyei ethnic settlement lies perched at an average altitude of 1,500 meters. Covering an area of 2.2 square kilometers, the village enjoys an average annual temperature of 13–14 C, around 1,275 hours of sunshine each year, and an annual rainfall of 1,000-1,200 millimeters.

The X014 national road runs conveniently alongside the village, while the Liangshuijing well winds through it, nourishing generations of residents.
As a traditional Bouyei enclave, Raorao remains a place of pure springs and clear air, preserving age-old customs such as the welcoming wine ceremony, harvest festivals, and the Liuyueliu ethnic celebration.
