Guiyang recently issued the guiding opinions on the high-quality development of the summer long-stay tourism industry in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, aiming to establish the sector as a new model of culture and tourism businesses, a source of local income growth, and a driver of rural vitalization, with a clear three-year roadmap.

The plan sets phased targets from 2025 to 2027. By 2025, six new graded homestays and eight rural tourism villages are expected to be recognized, attracting at least 250,000 tourist visits. By 2026, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area aim to consolidate and enhance 10 rural long-stay tourism belts, hoping to draw at least 300,000 tourist visits.

By 2027, more than 2,500 residential units are planned for renovation, 50 graded homestays will be established, and 15 key rural tourism villages designated, while visitor traffic projected to reach at least 350,000. Over the three-year period, the cumulative target is to attract 900,000 summer tourist visits.

To achieve these objectives, the guiding opinions outline 14 concrete measures across five key areas, including coordinated planning and construction, expanding market participants, improving service quality, strengthening brand marketing, and enhancing regulatory oversight.
