The Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China recently released the national air quality status for June and the first half of the year.
The report highlighted an achievement for Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – which ranked seventh among 168 key cities in June for air quality.
Even more impressive, from January to June, Guiyang soared to 3rd place in overall air quality among these cities.
Moreover, Guiyang clinched the top spot in both air quality improvement and PM2.5 concentration reduction among the 168 cities in the first half of the year. The accolade served to underscore Guiyang's dedication to improving its air quality and ongoing efforts to create a healthier and more sustainable environment for residents.
Guiyang's success in air quality improvement is widely said to have set a benchmark for other cities – demonstrating the possibilities of achieving cleaner air through diligent environmental policies and community involvement.
