The Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area River Chief System Office announced that the 2024 Comprehensive Capacity Enhancement Training Program for River and Lake Protection in Guiyang and Gui'an has commenced in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 25.
The training program aims to enhance the professional skills and performance capabilities of village-level river chiefs and related personnel in Guiyang and Gui'an, promoting better management and protection of the region's rivers and lakes.
A total of 140 participants, including liaisons from 42 municipal river chief system responsibility units, staff members from 13 district and county-level river chief offices, and village-level staff members from Gui'an, participated in the training.
Experts were invited to the event to deliver lectures on topics such as the practical exploration of the river chief system in Guizhou, the duties of grassroots river chiefs during river patrols, and how the river chief system can aid in rural vitalization.
During the training, experts used detailed data, case studies, and charts to explain the importance, objectives, and methods of the river chief system. Additionally, participants reinforced their skills through case study videos, knowledge manual reviews, and summary tests.
A relevant official from the Guiyang and Gui'an River Chief Office stated that the training helps improve the business skills of grassroots river chiefs and related staff members, providing strong support for the protection of the water environment.
