Hongfenghu town – located in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has recently been vigorously cleaning and removing garbage within its jurisdiction, making every effort to improve the ecosystem and environment of Hongfeng Lake.

That's according to the Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area River Chief System Office. It's understood that due to frequent rainfall recently, a large amount of garbage and floating debris has floated into the areas around the rivers and lakes of Hongfenghu town – posing a significant challenge for them.

To increase the protection of the drinking water source of Hongfeng Lake, Hongfenghu town carried out comprehensive inspections of the lake's shores and surrounding rivers and cleaned up garbage on the water's surface.

The cleanup focused on areas with dense human activities in lakeside villages, low-lying areas of rivers and lakes and river mouths where rivers flow into the lake.

To date, the town is said to have completed the cleanup of more than 80 water surface sites, covering an area of over 5,000 square meters and has removed over 2,000 kilograms of garbage and floating debris.
