Qingzhen city makes progress in air protection in May

The Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment released the environmental air quality assessment results of various districts, counties, and development zones in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – for the month of May on June 11.

According to the data, the county-level city of Qingzhen – administered by Guiyang – ranked number one.

The rankings of various districts, counties, and development zones in Guiyang in May are, from best to worst: Qingzhen city, Guanshanhu district, Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Huaxi district, Wudang district/Kaiyang county (tie), Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, Guiyang Free Trade Zone, Baiyun district, Yunyan district, Nanming district, Xiuwen county, Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone and Xifeng county.

The proportion of days in all districts, zones and counties in Guiyang with good ambient air quality was 100 percent in May.

The term good ambient air quality refers to an air pollution index that is greater than 50 and less than or equal to 100, according to national standards.
