Guiyang to take measures to promote 'zero-waste'

The "Guiyang City 2024 Zero-waste City Construction Plan" has recently been issued. The plan focuses on tasks such as reducing the generation of solid waste, and promoting harmless waste disposal methods.

Guiyang will provide policy support for companies to establish national and provincial-level green factories, green industrial parks, and green supply chains, gradually reducing the generation of industrial solid waste and hazardous waste. Guiyang will also promote the development of green buildings, aiming for green buildings to account for 90 percent or more of the city's total by 2024.

Guiyang will establish a recycling and disposal system to promote the recycling and utilization of waste pesticide packaging.

In addition, Guiyang will ensure the harmless disposal of garbage. The city will accelerate the construction of various garbage incineration projects within the city, while also stabilizing the operation of completed garbage incineration power generation projects in Huaxi district, Baiyun district, and Qingzhen county-level city, thus ensuring that garbage is disposed of harmlessly.
