An assessment of the air quality assurance work was conducted by various districts, cities, counties and development zones in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, in January.

The rankings of this recent assessment are as follows, from best to worst: Wudang district, Guanshanhu district, the Guiyang Free Trade Zone, the Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, Yunyan district, Nanming district, Huaxi district, Qingzhen city, the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Baiyun district, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Kaiyang county, Xifeng county, and Xiuwen county.

All districts, zones and counties in Guiyang enjoyed good air quality every day in January. The proportion of days with good ambient air quality or above in Guiyang in the month ranged from 93.5 percent to 100 percent, and the city's comprehensive air quality index ranged from 2.24 to 3.34 in different areas.

Good ambient air quality refers to the national standard of ambient air quality. If the air pollution index is greater than 50 and less than or equal to 100, then the air quality is considered good.
