Qianling Mountain Park is shaded by green trees, with flocks of egrets gathering along the Nanming River. Nowadays, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area are continuously improving their ecology and environment, striving to create beautiful scenery everywhere.
Recently, the reopening ceremony for the Guancheng River and the opening ceremony of Taiping Road were held, presenting a brand-new look to the residents of Guiyang.
In the past, the banks of the Guancheng River were bustling commercial areas. However, with the continuous expansion of the city and the increasing population, the Guancheng River was encroached upon, and its water was severely polluted, which decreased its water flow.
To rejuvenate the Guancheng River, Guiyang's Yunyan district initiated the Taiping Road renovation project in March 2023. This project had a total investment of 498 million yuan ($69.04 million) and included the 149-meter Guancheng River reopening project.
The reopening of the Guancheng River and the opening of Taiping Road exemplify Guiyang's commitment to complementary urban development and ecological environmental governance.

The city is also developing its green industries. In the first half of 2023, the output value of industries such as new energy vehicles, phosphorus chemicals, electronic information manufacturing, advanced equipment manufacturing, ecological specialty foods, and health care and medicine all grew by over 10 percent.
Furthermore, Guiyang is developing a diverse range of green services, with the supply of green products constantly expanding. In the first half of 2023, Guiyang built two forest healthcare bases and 30 forest healthcare stations. It also nurtured 11 green boutique hotels and five green boutique homestays.
