"Nowadays, the neighborhood has a great environment with high green coverage. During my leisure time, I go downstairs to dance and exercise," said Shi Guiying, a resident of the Yuanda Meiyu Community in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang city.
In early 2021, Guanshanhu district took the lead in launching a pilot project to construct "Micro-Ecological Communities" in the Yuanda Meiyu and Jinhua Garden communities. Each community is now equipped with two sewage discharge monitoring devices and three air quality monitoring microstations, allowing residents to grasp real-time information about the ecological environment.
Currently, Guanshanhu district has established nine Micro-Ecological Communities.
Approaching the large screen of the air quality monitoring microstation within the Yuanda Meiyu Community, you can clearly see indicators such as ozone in the air on that day.
Moreover, if residents notice issues like exposed garbage or damage to the greenery around them, they can take photos and upload them onto the monitoring microstation system. Supervisors will then promptly address these concerns.
The construction of these "Micro-Ecological Communities" in Guanshanhu district is a part of Guiyang City and Guian New Area's bid to accelerate sustainable urban development.
In 2023, Guiyang and Guian focused heavily on sustainable development and environmental protection. In the same year, Guiyang successfully became a national demonstration zone for ecological civilization construction, making it the third provincial capital city to achieve this status nationwide.
