Zero-waste entities built in Guiyang

"Zero-waste Entities" are the key carrier of "zero-waste city" development and also the basic component unit of the "zero-waste" concept in daily life. It includes enterprises, communities and various types of production and living units.

Since Guiyang was approved to develop into a "zero-waste city" in 2022, the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment has actively promoted the creation of "zero-waste entities".

The "Implementation Rules for the Construction of 'Zero-waste Entities' during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period (2021-25) in Guiyang" were issued in June of this year.

The rules specified the construction of "Zero-waste Entities" – covering zero-waste factories, industrial parks, scenic spots, hotels, schools, shopping malls, communities, villages, government offices, and hospitals – throughout the entire city.

Guiyang has already completed the assessment of zero-waste villages and shopping malls. A total of 10 villages, including Ganjing village in Nanming district, and 12 shopping malls, including the Shubo Wanda Plaza in Yunyan district, have passed the assessment and become zero-waste villages and zero-waste shopping malls, respectively.

The assessment of the remaining eight categories of "zero-waste entities" at the Guiyang municipal level has been progressing in an orderly manner.
