An event promoting the need for volunteers in the ecological space took place at the Guiyang Ecological Science Museum on Dec 3.

Thirty volunteers that are engaged in protecting natural ecosystems from across Guiyang city shared their firsthand stories of environmental conservation, promoting awareness of the need to further protect the ecological environment in front of a live audience.

Subsequently, the participating volunteers ventured into the Shili Riverbank Wetland Park, experiencing the breathtaking scenery and helping to de-litter the trails and water bodies.

Hong Lu, hailed as one of the nation's leading ecological environment volunteers, discussed her journey of becoming a volunteer. She said she hoped to inspire more people to learn about and protect the environment.

The Guiyang Ecological Science Museum has also been organizing a series of lectures and activities, in a bid to engage more people in volunteer services.

This initiative has helped boost Guiyang's ecology by encouraging greater awareness of and participation in environmental protection.
