Guiyang bureau promotes knowledge of astronomy

To kindle the public's enthusiasm for exploring the mysteries of the universe and guide the adoption of a green and low-carbon lifestyle, a large-scale popular science event based on the theme of ecological civilization was organized by the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment on Nov 25.

It took place at the Guiyang Ecological Science Popularization Museum and featured a lecture titled 'The Allure of Astronomy and Environmental Protection', presented by Professor Zhang Liyun from Guizhou University.

Professor Zhang provided a comprehensive introduction to the basic concepts of astronomy and the objects of astronomical research.

In addition, he shared information related to Guiyang's beautiful night sky and environmental conservation, showcasing images of planets, comets, auroras, and the Milky Way. These visuals allowed the attendees to grasp both the scientific and entertaining aspects of astronomical knowledge, as well as the importance of protecting the ecological environment.

At the end of the lecture, Zhang treated the audience to a visually stunning science popularization video about the universe, vividly illustrating the vast and boundless cosmic galaxies.
