Guiyang bureau improves environment over holidays

The Guiyang bureau of Ecology and Environment took various measures to significantly enhance the quality of the natural environment during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays from Sept 29 to Oct 6.

Addressing the issue of air pollution caused by straw burning during the autumn harvest season, the bureau issued a notice titled "Further Strengthening the Control and Prevention of Straw Burning Pollution." It has been actively supervising and guiding local areas in the strict implementation of the straw burning ban. 

To strengthen environmental governance and ensure safety, the bureau is inspecting and rectifying environmental safety hazards at various companies starting in mid-September.

During this period, they inspected 324 companies and provided guidance for the rectification of over 30 environmental safety hazards. There have been no environmental accidents stemming from fixed pollution sources this year.

Furthermore, during the holiday period, officials of the bureau inspected over 10 centralized drinking water sources and successfully addressed 10 atmospheric pollution issues. The city's environmental air quality has remained at an excellent level for the past eight days.

These proactive measures taken by the bureau have effectively improved the overall environment during the holiday.
