Guiyang holds ecological public welfare activity

A public welfare activity in Guiyang dubbed "Exploring Green Mysteries – Ecology and Environment and Health" was held at Guiyang Ecological Science Museum and Huaxi National Urban Wetland Park on Aug 17.

Thirty families were invited to participate in the event. Led by docents, or dedicated tour guides, they learned about Guiyang's ecology and environment courtesy of a range of electronic equipment and interactive devices at the science museum. They also have a deeper grasp of the development of Guiyang's karst landform and the process of managing urban ecology and the environment.

The event included Q&A sessions to stimulate children's thirst for knowledge and exploration, and deepen the younger generation's knowledge of how to better protect nature.

After visiting the science museum, the families engaged in waste-classification games there.

As the event drew to a close, staff members led everyone to Huaxi National Urban Wetland Park to experience first-hand the beauty of its environment, boasting lush vegetation and meandering streams, guiding the public to understand the value of a good ecology and local environment and the impact this has on people's health, as well as develop a keen awareness of the importance of environment protection.

The city will host seven similar activities until Sept 17, including setting up a lecture hall based on the theme of ecological civilization, and inviting the general public to participate.
