Guiyang promotes environmental protection efforts

A series of activities marking Guizhou Ecological Day were recently held in Guiyang to promote the city's environmental protection strategy.

Sponsored by the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment, publicity events were held based on the theme of "Building a Green Pioneer – Sharing a Modern Life of Harmony Between Man and Nature and Sharing a Beautiful Green New Life".

The event attracted over 100 Guizhou residents, as well as volunteers from several local colleges.

In order to deepen the concept of "green, low carbon, and environmental protection" among the public, volunteers visited Guizhou Tianzhiyuan Environmental Protection Technology Development Co and Guiyang Zhongdian Environmental Protection Power Generation Co.

They also participated in a series of "trash-to-treasure" activities to learn about the entire process of how wastewater is cleaned, how garbage is incinerated to generate electricity, and how electronic waste can be recycled.

Volunteers also cleaned up riverside garbage and called on surrounding residents to classify household waste. The interactive "garbage classification" activity, set up outside the Guiyang Ecological Science Museum, also attracted many local residents.
