The Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment held the promotional meeting for zero-waste city construction on April 28, with 26 municipal departments and 14 district, county, and development zone-level governments in attendance.

At the meeting, Chen Ming, deputy director of the bureau, gave a briefing on the overall progress of "zero-waste city" construction work in Guiyang, while some government departments reported the status of "zero-waste city" construction in Guiyang in 2022 and their plans for 2023.

He Xiaoli, secretary of the Party committee of the bureau, pointed out that the current "zero-waste city" construction work has achieved some results, but there is significant room for improvement.

To this end, He pointed out that in terms of the technical system, efforts should be made to break through the efficient utilization and disposal technology of solid waste with large output and difficult utilization, such as red mud, phosphogypsum and fly ash.

In terms of the market system, the exploration of market-oriented investment and financing mechanisms and business models for the construction of a "zero-waste city" should be accelerated.

In addition, all relevant units were urged to improve the supervision system of solid waste and promote the refined management of solid waste collection, transfer, utilization and disposal.
