Event to promote ecological civilization volunteer services held in Guiyang

An event to promote ecological civilization volunteer services, entitled "Cherish the Earth and Promote Harmony and Coexistence between Man and Nature", was held at the Guiyang Ecological Science Popularization Center in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province on April 22, which marked the 54th World Earth Day, local media reported.

The event, hosted by the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment and organized by the Guiyang Environmental Knowledge Education Center, aimed to raise public awareness of existing environmental issues and advocate for everyone to love, protect and cherish the Earth's resources. 

Prior to the event, the Guiyang Ecological Science Popularization Center held an ecological civilization volunteer service training session, which provided detailed presentations on the concept, spirit and significance of volunteer services, the rights and obligations of volunteers, garbage sorting, and World Earth Day, allowing volunteers to gain a deeper understanding of ecological civilization volunteer services.

During the activity, the volunteers were enthusiastic and patient in promoting garbage sorting to residents and guided them to use discarded plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, cans, and paper to make daily necessities or decorations through cutting, folding, pasting, and other methods. 

They demonstrated the new concept of "low-carbon, green, and environmental protection" by "turning waste into treasure", and called on everyone to work together to improve the overall environment of the Earth through green and low-carbon living.
