This year, Guiyang and Guian New Area will ensure that their domestic waste classification will reach 100-percent coverage, their awareness rate will reach 100 percent, and their public participation rate will be more than 90 percent.
It is understood that in June 2022, Guiyang issued its action plan, which stated that Guiyang and Guian will focus on five links to promote the construction of an urban domestic waste classification system.
The plan is a clear path for Guiyang and Guian New Area to establish a whole-process classification system for domestic waste, focusing on "wet and dry classification".
At the same time, Guiyang and Guian will implement a new management system for dry and wet domestic waste classification, waste collection and transportation, and treatment.
This year, the two regions are committed to stabilizing their urban domestic waste utilization rate so that it exceeds 35 percent. In addition, their resource utilization rate will reach more than 65 percent, while the collection of wet waste will account for 20 percent of their total domestic waste removal volume.
To reach these targets, eight large and medium-sized transfer sorting centers will be built in the two regions this year, and 15 small garbage transfer stations in the urban areas will be upgraded.
By the end of the year, the city's wet waste treatment capacity will reach 2,980 metric tons per day, ensuring that the garbage sorting capacity will rise to 7,050 tons per day, and that the incineration capacity will reach 6,400 tons per day.
