Guiyang, Guian fight against pollution

Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have made consistent efforts to fight against pollution in order to improve the ecological environment, local media reported.

Officials said at a press conference on Jan 9 that Guiyang and Guian New Area have advanced efforts in "five critical battles" to enable local people to enjoy the blue sky, clear water and clean land. It has also implemented measures to deal with solid waste and improve the environment in rural areas.

In order to prevent air pollution, Guiyang built an air monitoring and analysis management system. They also took measures to control volatile organic compounds and mobile pollution sources.  

Meanwhile, measures have been taken to address the air pollution problems, assess air quality of each district or county, and control construction and road dust.
