Guiyang, Guian to implement domestic waste classification across entire jurisdiction

It was learned from the 2022 domestic waste classification summary meeting held in Guiyang and Guian New Area on Jan 11 that this year, Guiyang and Guian will ensure the implementation of domestic waste classification across their entire jurisdictions.

This year, Guiyang and Guian will improve the level of reduction and recycling of urban domestic waste so that the recycling rate of waste is stabilized at more than 35 percent and the utilization rate is at more than 65 percent.

Guiyang and Guian will accelerate the construction of four classification and sorting centers, the upgrading and transformation of 15 transfer stations, and the construction of an information service and supervision platform for garbage classification.

In this way, the two regions can ensure that the garbage sorting and processing capacity reaches 7,050 metric tons per day, the incineration processing capacity reaches 6,400 tons per day, and the wet garbage processing capacity reaches 2,980 tons per day.

At the same time, Guiyang and Guian plan to strengthen inspection and administrative law enforcement and educate residents who are not correctly classifying their waste.
