Guizhou ensures air quality in autumn, winter

The press conference on the provincial environmental air quality in the first three quarters of 2022 was held by the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guizhou Province on Oct 26, during which it was learned that the province will strengthen the prevention and control of air pollution in autumn and winter across the province.

With the change in temperature in autumn and winter, the diffusion conditions of pollutants tend to be unfavorable, and due to climate factors such as stationary fronts and mountainous terrain, atmospheric pollutants are easy to accumulate, and pollution is more severe than in spring and summer.

The prevention and control work will include two parts. Firstly, the province will launch the provincial autumn and winter urban ambient air quality control action in 2022 to implement trend analysis, early prevention and precise control.

Secondly, a pollution prevention and control system in autumn and winter will be formed, with provincial, municipal and county linkage and close cooperation between experts and relevant departments. Based on terrain, meteorological conditions and pollution sources, the province will strengthen guidance and assistance in the control of ambient air quality.

At the same time, the frequency of early warnings and forecasting will be increased, pollution control tips will be issued in advance, and real-time monitoring data and the trend of meteorological conditions will be analyzed.
