Guiyang takes measures to protect environment

The Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment has been continuously strengthening the detection and remediation of potential pollution hazards at major pollution sources since Oct 8.

The bureau has dispatched more than 560 environmental law enforcement personnel, carried out 429 on-site law enforcement inspections on various pollution sources, and found and supervised the rectification of 30 potential environmental risks and safety hazards, 16 of which have now been fully rectified. At the same time, five environmental violations were rectified according to law.

To date, two industry areas have been investigated, 23 enterprises have been identified as having two major environmental security risks, and special management and control measures have been implemented.

In addition, the bureau has completed the inspection and supervision of Qingzhen city, Nanming district and Wudang district, and has inspected 10 enterprises and places which have been reported by the public.

Through continuous supervision, noise and odor pollution, both common complaints among the public, have been greatly reduced.
