In response to some previous adverse meteorological conditions, the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment has successfully ameliorated the ozone pollution that may occur in September – through scientific forecasting, comprehensive analysis and precise scheduling.
In the process, the bureau is understood to have made multi-dimensional forecasts, comprehensively analyzed the causes of pollution and carried out precise emergency management and control.
As a result, as of September Guiyang reported not having experienced polluted weather for 534 consecutive days, setting a record.
Since the start of the year, only Guiyang and Kunming – capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – are the provincial capital cities to have maintained an excellent air quality of 100 percent.
In addition, only Guiyang and Qiandongnan – among the nine cities and prefectures in Guizhou province – maintained an excellent air quality of 100 percent during the same period.
