Guiyang bureau leads residents to explore insect world

The 18th Ecological Civilization Lecture Hall hosted by the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment opened at the Guiyang Ecological Science Museum on Aug 27. More than 50 environmental protection enthusiasts participated in the event.

At the scene of the lecture, Li Boyan, a member of the Guizhou Entomological Society, explained his research on insects. With pictures of insect research trips on his PowerPoint slides, Li explained the many species and types of insects in an amusing way, arousing bursts of applause and laughter from the audience.

After the indoor theoretical lecture, the extracurricular field explanation class was held. Under the leadership of Li, environmental protection enthusiasts walked to Huaxi Shilihetan Wetland Park together to sample and observe common and rare insects.

Some people even spotted the same insects that appeared in Li's slideshow.

The event taught participants the value of insects in the environment and said that they would pay more attention to the protection of insects in the future.
