Nanming River in Guiyang reappears with clear water, green shore

Guiyang has attached great importance to the management of the Nanming River in recent years and achieved good results. All 25 black and odorous water bodies in the entire river basin have been eliminated, and the water quality of seven main tributaries have all reached standards.

In the Living Water Landscape Park by the Nanming River, many residents come to exercise early in the morning. "On weekends, I like to bring my children to play here. We all like this place," said resident Zhang Ju.

Under the tree-lined park is the Qingshan Reclaimed Water Plant with a sewage treatment capacity of 50,000 metric tons per day.

A total of 34 reclaimed water plants have been built along the Nanming River Basin. The model of building factories underground and building gardens on the ground maximizes the efficiency of land use and contributes to the "Guiyang plan" for the governance of urban rivers of the same type.

In addition, the application of big data helps bring beautiful scenery closer to residents.

The city now boosts 121 water and rain condition and video monitoring stations, seven Nanming River main sewage interception ditch automatic monitoring stations for sewage water quality, and six high-definition video monitoring stations for flood and drought disaster prevention to realize real-time monitoring of river conditions.
