Guiyang city popular with young folks

Guiyang city   ̶ capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province   ̶ ranked ninth among the most popular and livable cities in the Insight Report on New Demands of Young People's Choice Cities, released on June 29 by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

According to the report, more and more young people choose Guiyang because of its great environment. Known as a "green oxygen bar", there has been no polluted weather for 435 consecutive days. In 2020 and 2021, the ambient air quality rate reached 98.9 percent for two consecutive years, while the average summer temperature is 22.3 C, making people feel refreshed.

In recent years, relying on its eco-friendly advantages, Guiyang has vigorously pursued a strategy of establishing itself an ecological city, and what's more, it has promoted the continuous improvement of its environment.

Known as an "eco-museum", Guiyang also has a forest coverage rate of 55 percent and is the first "national forest city". The city has 1,025 parks of various types.

The city is said to have achieved a harmonious coexistence with nature, while the excellent ecological system and environment has become the city's greatest development advantage and competitive advantage. According to statistics, in 2021 Guiyang's green economy accounted for 47 percent of the local GDP.
