Guiyang spreads ecological awareness

An environmental protection activity sponsored by the Guiyang bureau of ecology and the environment was launched at the Gaoyan domestic waste landfill in Guiyang on June 25.

A total of more than 20 students' and volunteers' families learned how to deal with domestic waste and about the process of landfill reconstruction.

Gaoyan domestic waste landfill in Guiyang city were completed and put into operation in 2001 and are responsible for the disposal of most of the domestic waste in Guiyang. On March 12, 2015, Beijing Environmental Sanitation Engineering Group was selected via public bidding in Guiyang to carry out the treatment and upgrading of the city's landfills.

Since then, the group has built the Green Ecological Vein Industrial Park of Gaoyan in Guiyang.

The Gaoyan refined biogas project was completed in July 2018 and can process about 48,000 cubic meters of landfill gas per day, and refine and utilize about 22,000 cubic meters of finished gas, reducing greenhouse gas and odor emissions by millions of metric tons.
