Guiyang strives to become no-waste city

The 2022 Guiyang Strong Ecological Work Situation Conference was recently held in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province. It has been reported that this year, Guiyang and Guian New Area will focus on strengthening solid waste management and improving the environment.

Guiyang will start working to become a "no-waste city" by completing the declaration to become a no-waste city and preparing for and implementing follow-up evaluation projects for the implementation plan. Bidding work has been completed and the plan is currently being prepared.

The second-phase project of the Guizhou Province Hazardous Waste and Guiyang Medical Waste Disposal Center is also being implemented. The main project of the medical waste workshop and the main project of the supporting sewage treatment station, adjustment tank, and lye tank have been completed. Basic equipment such as incineration rotary kilns have been completed, and other equipment foundations are under construction. Equipment production is about 34 percent finished, and accumulated investment has reached 61.31 million yuan ($9.1 million).

In addition, a medical waste disposal project in Guiyang is being promoted. A total of 85 percent of the interior decoration of the project has been completed, the main project has been completed, and cumulative investment has amounted to 42 million yuan.
