Guiyang city's air quality ranks among the top 10 in China

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently announced the national ambient air quality for cities from January to March this year.

From January to March, among the 168 key cities measured in terms of air quality, Guizhou – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – was ranked ninth.

During the period, in the ranking for air quality improvement and changes in the cities, Guiyang ranked sixth.

In addition, the average number of good days in 339 cities at the prefecture level and above was 83.8 percent, up 2.9 percentage points year-on-year.

The average concentration of PM2.5 pollutant was 43 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 4.4 percent and the average concentration of PM10 was 65 mcg per cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 13.3 percent.

Meanwhile, the average concentration of O3 was 110 mcg per cu m, a year-on-year increase of 1.9 percent and the average concentration of SO2 was 10 mcg per cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 16.7 percent.

Furthermore, the average concentration of NO2 was 25 mcg per cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8 percent while the average concentration of CO was 1.2 milligrams per cu m, down 7.7 percent.
