Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently announced the results of the environmental air quality assessment for each district, county level city and county under its jurisdiction in March, and Kaiyang county ranked first.
The rankings from high to low were: Kaiyang county, Guanshanhu district, Nanming district, Wudang district, Xiuwen county, the Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone, Qingzhen city, Huaxi diistrict, Yunyan district, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Baiyun district and Xifeng county.
In March, the proportion of good days that met the national standard in each district ranged from 87.1 percent to 100 percent. The main pollutant was fine particulate matter and the comprehensive index of ambient air quality was between 2.63 and 3.06.
The air quality status of the state-controlled site showed that the proportion of days with good ambient air quality in Guiyang in March was 100 percent, up 6.5 percentage points year-on-year. Meanwhile, the number of days with mild pollution and above was zero days, down two days year-on-year.
The monthly average concentration of sulfur dioxide was 7 micrograms/cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 36.4 percent and the monthly average concentration of nitrogen dioxide was 18 micrograms/cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 14.3 percent.
The monthly average concentration of inhalable particulate matter was 47 micrograms/cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 30.9 percent.
In addition, the daily average concentration of carbon monoxide did not exceed the standard, which was flat year-on-year; the maximum 8-hour daily average concentration of ozone did not exceed the standard and was flat year-on-year.
The monthly average concentration of fine particulate matter was 29 micrograms/cu m, down 17.1 percent year-on-year.
