Guiyang supervises hazardous waste disposal enterprises

The Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment carried out safety inspection work at the Guiyang Medical Waste Treatment and Disposal Center on March 4. After inspecting the site, the supervision team told the center to investigate and eliminate hidden dangers to ensure safer production.

To promote the centralized and safe disposal of hazardous waste, the bureau, together with hazardous waste collection, transportation and disposal companies, carried out on-site inspections on March 8.

The inspection team inspected the collection, sorting, storage, transfer, and disposal of hazardous waste at the Guiyang Material Recycling Company and learned the specifications of hazardous waste identification and tracking management of hazardous waste.

In addition, the team ordered the enterprise to rectify problems such as the non-standard identification of sorting areas and imperfect ledgers.

Since the beginning of this year, the recycling company has collected and disposed of 1,959 kilograms of hazardous waste, including drugs and their packaging, toner cartridges, paint and its packaging, and fluorescent lamps.

Moving forward, the bureau will continue to increase supervision of enterprises involved in the collection, transportation and disposal of hazardous waste while striving to ensure the safety of the environment.
