Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has explored noise abatement in one plaza and 22 schools that emitted noise pollution this year, according to Guiyang Bureau of Ecology and Environment.
According to the location, environment, and noises in different areas, the bureau has communicated with the schools and launched targeted plans for each of them.
The bureau optimized the layout of column loudspeakers in each school to avoid the leakage of sounds, upgraded campus broadcast systems to avoid disturbing neighboring citizens, and monitored campus broadcast in real time to reduce the noise.
The schools and neighboring citizens are happy about the noise abatement results. In the future, the bureau will further communicate with related departments and share noise abatement experience, explore the establishment of a standard noise management model, and keep solving noise problems for citizens.
