According to an official statement from the Guiyang Bureau of Ecology and Environment on Nov 24, Guiyang's Huaxi district was honored as a practice and innovation base for "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The title was approved by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment. In addition to Huaxi, there was one county, one industrial park and three villages in Guizhou that earned the title.
In recent years, Huaxi has set up the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" and remains focused on reserving, attracting and releasing ecological power.
Meanwhile, Huaxi has promoted the development of ecological agriculture, ecological industry and ecological tourism to contribute to the green development in the district.
In 2020, Huaxi's good and excellent air quality rate was 99.1 percent, the quality of all the centralized drinking water sources and surface water quality met national standards, the forest coverage met 54.95 percent, and the district established 200,000 square meters of green lands in urban areas.
