Wudang district's bureau of ecology and environment in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, organized various activities to celebrate National Low Carbon Day, which fell on Aug 25 this year.

The activities were held both on-site and offline on Aug 25, to educate the public about energy conservation and the need to reduce carbon emissions.

The bureau played promotional videos about National Low Carbon Day on screens and organized its employees to join in an online quiz game to learn more about green and low carbon life.

The bureau's volunteers gave out publicity materials, recycle bags, degradable plastic bags and gel pens to pedestrians, shops and locals – to raise awareness about reducing plastic products, protecting biodiversity, as well as informing folks about nuclear and radiation knowledge and noise pollution.
