Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held a series of science publicity activities on July 31.
Guiyang is understood to have been working hard on popularizing science, with the continued support of the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment.
The recent activities – themed on ecological civilization – were held in the Guiyang Ecological Science Museum in the city's Huaxi district, attracting a large number of parents and students who reportedly enjoyed a series of fascinating lectures and exhibits there.
Wang Weiping, deputy director of the Guizhou Climate Center, gave a lecture on the essence of a cool Guiyang and revealed the climate's effect on people's daily lives, the climatic advantages of Guiyang, as well as explored climate change and corresponding strategies being mobilized to meet it.
The museum also displayed some educational interactive activities, from which audiences could learn about Guiyang's environmental and ecological history and development, environmental protection and cultural inheritance.
In addition, primary and secondary school students had the chance to experience being a weather media presenter firsthand.
