Xifeng ranks top in Q1 municipal water quality evaluation

The Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment recently ran a water quality monitoring and assessment campaign within the city.

According to the results released by the bureau, Xifeng county ranked first in terms of regional surface water and drinking water quality, followed by Qingzhen county-level city, Nanming district, Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone and Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Zone.

Guiyang's 11 State-controlled sections and 12 province-controlled sections all met the surface water quality standard during the first quarter of 2021.

In addition, the compliance rate of 16 centralized drinking water sources above county level reached 100 percent.

Of the 45 centralized drinking water sources that each supplies more than 1,000 people in Guiyang's rural areas, 24 were classified as above Ⅱ level.

The bureau urged all Guiyang's counties and districts to prioritize water quality monitoring and control and to deal with water pollution through overall planning, specific measures and clear time limits.
