More than 60 teachers, students and volunteers, as well as 17,000-plus audience members, attended an online and offline lecture on ecological civilization held on April 24 in Guiyang's Huaxi district. Guiyang is the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Hosted by the Guiyang Ecological Science Museum, the activity invited Yang Weicheng, an expert from the Institute of Entomology of Guizhou University, to share his views on Guizhou's stunning karst scenery. Yang has years of experience studying the province's natural landscape.
During this lecture, Guizhou's climate characteristics, karst topography and species diversity were presented vividly, and the interactions between Yang and audiences were extraordinarily active.
Audience members said that the lecture helped them learn about Guiyang's rich biological resources and fragile karst scenery. It also helped the public to better understand the importance of environmental protection.
