Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, enjoyed superior air quality during this year's Spring Festival holiday from Feb 11 to 17.

The city reportedly had no polluted days and the rate of excellent air quality reached 100 percent during the holiday.

Behind the latest statistics, Guiyang's efforts in maintaining good air quality through a range of measures have been effective.

The city has strengthened its monitoring, forecasting and early warnings of local air pollution. Any warning concerning polluted weather is now delivered promptly.

In addition, the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment manages dynamic monitoring all day and analyzes the effects of fireworks on air quality, in order to make further suggestions for pollution control.

Guiyang is also seeking to guide the public to reduce the use of fireworks. Before the holiday, information videos and slogans were played repeatedly on the internet, which attracted  770,000 views.

At the same time, construction sites and dust pollution at avenues and roads were placed under strict control. Through on-site investigations and remote monitoring, a total of 63 dust problems were handled.

More than 1,100 road sprinklers, high-pressure water trucks and mechanical sweepers and sanitation workers are now deployed every day to guarantee a local clean environment.
