A symposium on the security management of radiation from mobile sources was held on Feb 8 by the Guiyang bureau of ecology and environment located in the city of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
At the meeting, the bureau reported on the status and current state of affairs in the field in 2020.
In addition, the treatment results of radiation accident cases in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region were revealed, so that Guiyang could draw lessons from the tragedy.
A total of five enterprises involved in mobile and radioactive sources attended the meeting, to report on their current management and future plans.
According to the meeting, Guiyang has maintained a stable security situation. It was reportedly felt that more efforts should be made towards strengthening the need for those involved to take responsibility, as well as to fine tune problem-oriented rectification systems and the management of archives.
Enterprises are also being required to create a safe environment and ensure their baseline in terms of radiation safety.
