To monitor the environment amid the novel coronavirus epidemic this winter, Baiyun's environmental department, in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has strengthened sewage supervision in medical institutions.
According to local authorities, the monitoring of residual chlorine in sewage has been included in routine management. The Affiliated Baiyun Hospital of Guizhou Medical University and Baiyun District People's Hospital must test daily medical sewage and submit their comprehensive results.
The two hospitals may also receive on-the-spot inspections to guarantee that residual chlorine emissions are being adequately monitored. More disinfectant will be put into use, while the operation and maintenance management of sewage treatment facilities will be strengthened.
As of Dec 28, both hospitals had reached the emission standards.
