Guiyang promotes environmental protection

Guiyang's bureau of ecology and environment in Southwest China's Guizhou province, along with Guiyang's environmental publicity and education center and Guiyang's science institute of ecology and environment, launched a series of volunteer activities on National Constitution Day, which falls on Dec 4 every year.

The activities included on-the-spot publicity of laws and regulations related to environmental protection and water and air pollution among visitors to Guiyang Ecological Science Museum.

The public was also able to check out lectures from experts and learn more about garbage classification, the benefits of using less plastic bags and how to lead a low-carbon lifestyle.

Students from local primary, middle and high schools were invited to share their thoughts and make comments on ecological protection.

More than 1,000 pieces of informative materials were handed out to enhance the campaign's publicity efforts, including papers with information on behavioral regulations and articles on environmental protection.
