Guiyang Institute of Ecological and Environmental Sciences (GIEES) in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, passed a preliminary check on Nov 29 for the China Inspection Body for its Laboratory Mandatory Approval (CMA).
Experts entrusted by the administrative examination and approval bureau of Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone assessed GIEES.
Following the relevant legal procedures, the experts adopted multiple methods – including listen, look, check, ask and test – to verify the validity of the institute's management system, relevant instruments and equipment statistics, test reports, original records and authorized signatories.
The check included both an on-the-spot inspection and an offline meeting.
The experts' consensus was that 26 parameters tested across two categories applied for by GIEES might get official approval – on the condition that they are further improved.
When approved, GIEES will provide technological support for the prevention and control of heavy metal pollution.
