Some 15 air and noise micro automatic monitoring stations -- in Huaxi district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- have completed construction and started operating on Nov 25.

The monitoring stations cover all the townships, towns and sub-districts in the district.

Based on big data and technical methods, the stations have formed a three-level "city-district-township" environmental air quality monitoring network that works with the original city and district automatic monitoring stations.

They will provide strong technical support and more accurate and effective monitoring data for precise traceability and air pollution controls.

The Guiyang municipal bureau of ecology and environment wanted to further advance the grid monitoring of air and noise pollution prevention and controls.

To do so, it launched the construction of an accurate decision-making information system for the grid management of environmental air quality and environmental noise in the city in 2019.

The bureau planned to install 90 micro automatic monitoring stations in six districts in the city to monitor PM 2.5 and PM 10 pollutants and noise.
