Guiyang, the capital city of Guizhou province in Southwest China, enjoyed fantastic environmental conditions over the recent holiday period, with its air, surface water and drinking water quality all ranking highly.
During the combined National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Guiyang experienced excellent air quality on eight days. Additionally, the city's centralized drinking water resources and surface water fully met national standards.
In regards to environmental safety, Guiyang inspected hidden dangers and conducted online accident monitoring.
Over 300 law-enforcement personnel were dispatched to make 148 inspections of pollution sources. The checks included local medical institutions and chemical companies, among other sites, and were conducted to ensure that everyone met the emissions standards.
Online monitoring triggered 409 warnings for enterprises engaged in heavy pollution, among which 370 cases were rectified. At the same time, Guiyang collected and disposed of 151.83 metric tons of medical waste during the holidays.
