Proposed ecological industrial park passes tech verification

Experts gave their blessings recently for the construction of a national ecological industrial demonstration park by Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ), according to zone officials.

The GETDZ is situated in Guiyang, capital city of southwestern Guizhou province and the planned demonstration park passed the technical verification tests conducted by an experts group on Nov 13.

On the same day, the experts group listened to a report on the establishment of the demonstration park.

Officials said it checked the application materials and archive materials submitted and visited a number of parks for field research and assessment.

They added that the group agreed that the proposed national ecological industrial demonstration park construction by GETDZ passed the technical verification -- and it put forward suggestions for the next construction phase of the park.

According to GETDZ officials, the zone started to prepare for the establishment of a national eco-industrial demonstration park in 2009.

It got the green light to carry out the construction of the demonstration park in 2011 and passed a provincial review in 2017.

Officials said that since its establishment, the GETDZ has optimized its industry structure and promoted environmental protection in an all-round way.

This, they added, has greatly promoted the sustainable improvement of its ecological environment, the acceleration of its industry transformation and upgrading, as well as the ecological development of the zone.
